now upload the entire weatherCat directory into your Plugins directory of the template, except the realtimeMT.txt, this is the file you use locally in your weatherCat software.

once you set the path, save the changes and close the file.

Sometimes both work, sometimes only one, you need to try one, it depends on your server configuration. This can be done using the URL or relative path to the weatherCat plugin folder. Open it and at the very top specify the location of the realtimeMT.txt.

now go back to the plugin folder you downloaded.

ideally go to your FTP client and check that the file is really there and you can try downloading a copy to your PC and check that the tags have been replaced with the actual numbers.

now the realtimeMT.txt should be periodically uploaded to the location on your server you specified with the current conditions.

Putting a '1' without the qutation marks here would upload the file every minute, which is the recommended interval.

in the 'Period' box choose a frequency to upload your relatimeMT.txt file.

click on 'Set Path' and set it to 'realtimeMT.txt' at the location you chose in step 3 like 'Documents/WeatherCat Web/realtime/realtimeMT.txt'.

You will specify a time in the next step under 'Additional Files'.

choose a time for 'Update Web Page Every:'.

Click the 'Test' button to make sure your FTP is working and then click on OK if you get the message telling you 'All OK'.

It does not matter where you upload it on your server because you will specify the path in the update script later on. This is where WeatherCat will upload the data needed for the template.

check 'Enable FTP Upload' and click on 'Edit FTP Details' and fill in the FTP information.

This is where the file to be uploaded to your server is saved.

click on 'Set Save Path' and set it to a folder like 'Documents/WeatherCat Web/WCWeb'.

You can create a directorz named 'none' and use it such as 'Documents/WeatherCat Web/none' This is not necessary, but you have to specify a location.

on the Main screen check 'Enable Custom Web Pages'.

go to WeatherCat preferences and select 'On-Line'.

extract the ZIP file and copy the included file realtimeMT.txt to a folder on your PC such as 'Documents/WeatherCat Web/realtime'.

In the second step you will need to set up the CRON job that will execute the Meteotemplate script that reads the content of the text file and saves it to the database in periodical intervals. In the first step you will set up WeatherCat to upload a special text file that will contain the current conditions in the format required for Meteotemplate.
